The park's surroundings have been equipped with tables, benches and grills to enjoy a beautiful day in the countryside in the middle of nature. Food and crafts are also sold and you can rent horses to take a ride through the reserve. It is ideal for camping, if you wish.

LAKE DAY
Lake of Valle de Bravo
Skiing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and other water activities are the main attraction of the Magical Town of Valle de Bravo, the lake. Its shore is the perfect place to eat or watch the sunset. But did you know that it is not a natural lake?
For three centuries, Valle de Bravo was a transitional area for the Nahuatl, Matlatzinca and Purépecha peoples, who made these lands the ideal place for agriculture. This led to the gradual emergence of other settlements, leading up to 1937, when construction work began on the Ixtapantongo power plant, which would later be called the Miguel Alemán System.
For this ambitious project, which would cover the high demand for electricity in Mexico City, the 2,900 hectares of agricultural land that formed part of the central valley had to be flooded. This is how the Valle de Bravo lake was created in 1955. Therefore, when you walk through the town, you can see that the old houses “turn their backs” to the body of water, since the entrances were oriented towards the center of the town.
Today, the lake is home to more than 40 nautical clubs authorized to hold regatta competitions.

Muchas gracias!
